I am delighted to recommend Gary Halstead as a life coach. Gary has been kind enough to work with me for 6 months, to help me think carefully about my life aims and objectives, and then remain more focussed on the necessary tasks to realise those aims.
I was at a stage early this year, where I was doing too many unrelated things that were keeping me busy, but I was unsure why I was doing them. They were often not aligned to my life aims and objectives. I was also doing too many things for other people to and not focussing time on myself and my aims.
Gary and I had a chat and when I explained some of my issues, I felt that Gary understood and could empathise with them. He suggested coaching sessions of about 45 mins every two weeks. The sessions helped me a lot. Gary would keep me focussed on the tasks that I was doing and “why I was doing them”. This way more emphasis was given to tasks that were key to my development and growth. We would also speak about my life aims and objectives and who would gently ask me why were these my aims? That was also important, as it allowed me to think about my values and also my next 10 years, as I approach my 60s. We had some interesting and thought-provoking discussions.
The two weekly sessions have been valuable. They have helped to keep me motivated, energised, and importantly, on track. Gary has a great gentle but focussed way of coaching that helped me to remain aligned to my aims and concentrate on the right tasks. This has also helped to provide me greater structure to my week, and I enjoy the work that I do a lot more now. I still help friends when I can, but I do not let that get in the way of the important work that I need to do to progress my life goals and objectives.
